Traditionally, quincea?eras are huge parties — like the ones I’ve been watching on MTV Tr3s’ Quiero Mis Quinces lately — but that doesn’t mean you can’t celebrate on a small scale. Remember our slide show on Ashley? She had her quince party at home, but she still celebrated exactly what 15 means — becoming a young woman who has a bright future.

If you’re on a tight budget, how about a sleepover party? You and your girlfriends can dress up and go out for a classy dinner. Then, come back home and stay up all night, playing games and watching movies! Have a crafts session to make party favors, sing karaoke, do a pajama fashion show, and even have a few madrinas give you mini facials or manicures and pedicures. You can still be a princess wearing a tiara with pajamas!

Planning a sleepover should be easier than a traditional party because you can buy most of the supplies you need online or at the dollar store.
The theme: Moon and stars, of course
The attire: Pajamas
Decorations: Make sure the curtains are closed to block the outside light. String Christmas lights around the windows and furniture, place balloons on the floor, stick glow-in-the-dark neon stars to the walls. The main table can be decorated like a bed, with a sheet folded over instead of a tablecloth, a pillow, and stuffed animals.
Guests bring: Sleeping bags, pillows, blankets
Provide: Flashlights that double as party favors with names written on them with a gold pen or marker. Another party favor idea is to ask the guests to bring an extra white pillowcase, and have everybody sign everybody else’s. It’s like every person gets to leave with their own guest book!
